"breakfast in bed" by dusty springfield
being perfectly honest, i have no idea what to post, but so far at college, i'm starting my silkscreen printing, my design was a tatoo styled chrysanthemum flower, which relates to my theme "flowers and folliage", i've only started a few prints on to fabric, which i will get round to uploading, but the results are really nice, it gives a really sharp and crisp definition to the design. we also had to include a paper stencil in one of the samples, so i decided to keep it simple and opt for a normal, plain circle and it as simple as it was, it did look quite good! although i do think this technique is very professional, the method and constantly lifting the dye residue from the fabric takes so long and you always have to rush around like a headless chicken to get everything clean and sorted before your board dries out and blots up with dye.
in other news, we have also got to draw two more A1 illustations for the "natural order" project, one has to be relating to a fashion garment and the other has to focus on the prints we have made over the pass few weeks, i'm starting the prints, and with my new found love for art noveau, i have chosen to draw a girl (which mysteriously reminds me of ellie goulding) holding a cigarette, and i think it's beautiful, and the media i'm using is just ordinary a black ink pen, i'm then going to use my leftover lino prints and in-corperate them into her hair and use tea for skin colour to make it a little bit more delicate, but with the bold lines and shapes to contrast with it, here's a picture, it's unfinished, but i'll make sure i'll upload another when it's completely finished:
excuse me for the bad quality, blackberry's aren't what they make out to be, but this is it so far, and i'm glad that the aching hand, which will probably snap in half anytime soon, will sure pay off!
