"rule, britannia!" by james thomson/thomas arne, 1740
friday 29th april 2011 will always be a big day for me and the whole entire world. yes, today, i was one of the two billion people that watched the royal wedding of prince william and catherine middleton, and i must say it was incredibly beautiful, and the ceremony was so humble and emotional. it was sad to know that the late princess diana wouldn't see her eldest son marry the naturally beautiful catherine, but i'm sure that she would be very proud. i'm so glad that i could see this moment in history made in front of my very eyes and that prince william and catherine may become king and queen of england! i'm so proud to be british.
of course, the most discussed topic was about catherine's dress, it was kept so secretive that we were all becoming impatient and hanging off the edges of our seats watching the event take place, but i must say, keeping her wedding dress a secret was definitely worth waiting for.
so beautiful! the incredible work was designed by sarah burton of alexander mcqueen, and i would definitely wear a dress like that, the intricate detailing of the lace is divine and the way the dress folds is stunning and the way the veil blew in the wind was breath-taking. i can definitely imagine seeing high street versions of catherine's dress being made and sarah burton becoming a household name, bravo miss burton!
as well as catherine's exquisite dress, the guests also dressed to perfection for william and catherine's special day:
