lay me down in sheets of linen, you've had a busy day today

"tiny dancer" by elton john

during the "natural order" project i'm doing at the moment, there is a lot of printing processes and techniques to do, and when i say alot i mean, alot. but never the less, some of the printing techniques are really cool and easy to do, and come out looking quite professional, the prints i've done so far are lino printing, which feels like you've snapped your wrist in half after carving out your design in a tiny tile, dry point, which is to carve your design using a scalpel on gold paper stuck to card, and collagraph, which is to use card and make a design out of different bits and bobs, which can include, bubblewrap, string/yarn, lace, and other things you find lying about.

for the lino prints, we had to print onto a A1 sheet of paper in one colour, cut them out and create some sort of garment or accessory onto a mannequin, here are some pictures of the lino garments i did:

lino cut outs to create a bodice

lino branch cut outs to create a unisex tie

seperate branch lino cut outs and ellie manner's flower design, to create a different look, to mix and match ideas and to add different colour(s)

lino paper cuts outs created into a waistcoat

oragami flowers close up

necklace by cutting up the branch design into seperate pieces and making oragami flowers to give a three dimensional look and to relate to my flowers & folliage theme
