"it's fashion innit (skit)" by the midnight beast
with about a week and a bit left of my summer holidays, it's not been too shabby. mostly considiting of work, work, work and hardly no play! apart from seeing one of my favourite bands, the midnight beast, which were amazzzzzzing! but work soon paid off after looking at my bank balance on payday, kaaaching! i bought a few nice bits and pieces to add to my wardrobe, and also a beautiful country rose cath kidston bag, which i will eventually upload when i can/can be bothered, but apart from that, i recieved my summer brief project from college, and this time, the theme is eras, but we have to use inspiration from our chosen era to create a new exciting collection, without copying a stereotypical, mainstream duplicate, seems a bit odd to me if i'm honest, but also very challenging, and i'm up for a challenge!
i spent ages trying to decide what era to do, i was torn between the 70's, 60's and 80's, but i decided to go for my all time love, the 1960's, i feel there was so much in this era that it would give me lots of inspiration and ideas to create a new collection, it burst into colour after world war 2 and people were experimenting with new things and people were finally letting their hair down, below are some of my favourite 1960's looks that are within the latest trends right now...

the mod look is one of my favourites, i love the sharp, snappy suits of the men that were very well tailored, the skinny ties also work a treat and the green, furry hooded parka is a must to complete this classic look, the women's mod look also consists of basic a-line shift dresses, but with beautiful patterns and colours, and the peter pan collar was born! you can also see some mod infulence within the "indie" culture of today. with my dad being a mod in the rebirth of the subculture in the 80's, as well as learning alot about the mod fashion, i learnt alot about the music they listened to, events and vespas! i really hope to create a mod inspired look in my collection at college, and i'm really looking forward to it! watch this space...
